Finally. A sandblasting system that will fit within any budget. The MicronBlaster MB10 is a dual chamber micro sandblasting unit with built in water trap and air regulator. It can easily be wall mounted or will stand securely on a table with included brackets.
The MicronBlaster can be used to polish, etch, clean, restore, or deburr virtually any surface. Most often used on metals, glass, ceramic, wood, stone, pottery, and even fossils and minerals. Accepts media of any hardness sized between 50 ~ 120 microns, although aluminum oxide is the most common media. The MicronBlaster MB10 features strong, precise sandblasting power, smooth and accurate operations, and easy maintenance. All controlled by a foot operated pedal which regulates the rate of flow.
Dual transparent chambers provide visibility of the media level during operation and allows easy switching between different grades of media with the push of a knob. Each of the two chambers has its own pen wand for the ultimate in convenience. Never empty a chamber again in order to use a different type or grit media.
The unit comes with six pen tips (three each for 50 micron and 120 micron sand), a 3-foot air hose, and standard air compressor quick connector. Simply connect to a compressor or pressured air-filled tank, load in the appropriate media and you are ready to go. You must wear eye protection.

Great Unit!
I borrowed this unit from a friend to etch some glass for an architectural project at home. I'd never done anything like that before but was pleased that it did an excellent (and fast) job. I used clear contact paper that I got at Ace hardware for the mask template. You can remove the cut-outs either before or after you adhere the contact paper to the glass, but for more complex designs like ours you really have to apply the contact paper first and then cut the "to be etched" parts out with an Exacto knife. It does generate a fine dust during use so you need to use it in a garage or outdoors with a simple doctors type face mask. The project turned out quite professional looking and our friends are amazed. A great little unit!

A HANDY LITTLE TIME-SAVING UNIT
We use one of these machines to prepare fossils in our paleontology laboratory. The dual chambers are very convenient because we start our preparation with a more aggressive 120 grit aluminum oxide blast media to eat away the surrounding rock and then switch (at the push of a button) to the other chamber / wand containing softer dolomite (or 400 grit aluminum oxide) for more gentle close-in work on the bones themselves. Make sure you use a mask and goggles if you'll be working for sustained periods because it does kick up dust. Our compressor is very quiet but for absolute silence you can run one of these units for hours on just compressed air from a tank that you can fill up at the local gas station.
