Grizzly 1HP Motor 1725 RPM Signle Phase
Ordered the motor a few weeks back. Recevied the motor in excelent condition. Being a novice on electrical wiring I called their customer service department and recevied directions on what to do. After I got the motor working I realized that the motor rotation need to be reversed for my application. I wrote an e-mail this time to their customer service department and received instructions in less and 30 minutes. Made the changes and everything is working great. Just wish the motor did not cost that much but the Grizzly with my specs was the cheapest I could find (tax and shipping factored in) on the internet.

Good buy
I was very happy with this purchase. It arrived sooner than I expected and was new. The price for it was more reasonable than some deals I've seen on here for used ones. It works great and I would use this supplier again.
works fine for running a benchtop drum sander
I am using this motor to run a new 24" flatmaster sander. The motor has plenty of power for this application and runs smoothly and reasonably quietly.
I would have given this 5 stars if it was a bit lighter. I could have gotten by with a 1/2 hp or 3/4 hp motor, but the pricing was pretty similar so I went with the extra power. Had the weights been easy to find, I might have selected a less powerful motor. It seems that the 1 hp motor is about 37 pounds and the 1/2 motor is 10 - 12 pounds lighter. The extra weight just makes it a bit harder to lift the assembled sander and to wrangle the motor during assembly.
The output shaft is keyed (although not mentioned in the material). You can easily remove the key if not needed.
Wiring the motor is simple; with easy to access screw connectors and strain relief for the power cord. Remember to provide your own power cord and switch if you need them. As usual, there is no place on the motor to mount the switch, so...
